The Topping Out Ceremony of Duna Terasz Vista Held
Duna Terasz Vista, under construction at the Foka Bay, features a gateway-shaped building with balconies echoing the rhythm of waves. With 632 apartments and a concept that revitalizes the bayfront environment by creating a public riverside promenade, it stands as one of the major developments in Budapest’s 13th district. Designed by Fazakas Építésziroda and developed by D&B Real Estate Group, with construction by DVM group, the building has reached its highest point, marked by a topping out ceremony on-site.
From an architectural standpoint, Duna Terasz Vista is currently one of Hungary’s most iconic residential projects, transforming a former industrial zone into an exclusive residential area enriched with green parks and playgrounds. One of the two residential buildings in the complex forms a gateway along the Foka Bay, supported by 15-meter pillars and hosting “floating” exclusive homes. The second building stretches from Cserhalom Street, featuring an inner promenade that extends to the bay, allowing many residences direct views of the water and the Buda hills. Each of the 632 apartments, ranging from 30 to 117 square meters, comes with a balcony, garden, or terrace.
“With Duna Terasz Vista, we aim to actively contribute to the renewal of the district and its location, providing a unique waterfront experience and comprehensive recreational opportunities for both families seeking a home and investment buyers. The previously inaccessible bayfront area at the base of the complex will be transformed into a stepped grassy slope interspersed with exposed concrete rest blocks, and a promenade along the elevated shore, becoming accessible public space coinciding with the handover of the residential park,” emphasized Csaba Tóth, Managing Director of D&B Real Estate Group.
The DVM group construction team has logged 861,000 working hours to date, with an average of 450 workers currently on-site, expected to peak at 1,000. The complex covers a gross floor area of 75,000 square meters, requiring 39,000 cubic meters of concrete and 5,000 tons of rebar. The building will feature 12.5 kilometers of glass railings symbolizing the rhythm of waves. To date, 30,000 cubic meters of earthwork have been completed.
“We took over the construction site in early January 2024. Excavation and pile capping began immediately, followed by structural construction in February, with our partners Fülöp Szerkezet Kft. and Péter Építő Kft. The foundation slab was completed as the first contractual milestone at the end of April, and now we have reached the highest point of the building at 34.16 meters. Full structural completion is expected by mid-November,” highlighted Balázs Czár, Partner and Managing Director of DVM group.
D&B Real Estate Group has been active in developing new residential parks in Budapest’s 13th district, one of the city’s most popular areas, for over 15 years, with developments directly along the Danube. The Duna Terasz brand encompasses their residential park projects in the Vizafogó neighborhood, forming the Duna Terasz Residential Quarter. The first residential park with 362 apartments was handed over in 2009, followed by the 322-apartment Duna Terasz Premium in 2019. This was succeeded by Duna Terasz Grande with 790 apartments, where handovers are nearing completion.
