Hungaroring wins Gold at the IADA International Architecture & Design Awards
The renewed Hungaroring, designed by DVM Group and SAMO, took Gold in the 2026 IADA awards’ Mixed-Use Development category.

The renewed Hungaroring, designed by DVM Group and SAMO architects, has won Gold at the 2026 International Architecture & Design Awards (IADA). The recognition reflects outstanding creative achievement and a commitment to innovation in architecture and design.
IADA is an annual global competition celebrating excellence across architecture, interior design, product design, design communication, landscape architecture, web design, artificial intelligence and other related creative fields. DVM Group and SAMO won Gold in the Architecture — Mixed-Use Development Design, Professional category for the Hungaroring renewal.
The Hungaroring has just gone through the biggest transformation in its history, putting the Hungarian circuit at the global forefront in infrastructure terms. The new complex — a 25,000 m² paddock building and a 10,000-capacity grandstand — lets the Hungaroring operate not only on race weekends but year-round, as a multi-functional event venue. Despite the variety of functions, every element of the development carries a unified architectural, interior and graphic identity. The concept behind the new main building and grandstand captures the tension between the start and the finish, with coordinated horizontal divisions, perspective and a sense of speed.
The IADA, organised by the Architecture & Design Community (ADC), announced its winners for the fifth time. From more than 500 finalists representing 53 countries, 347 award winners were selected this year. Aligned with the field’s latest trends, the 2026 edition added new AI-related categories, reflecting the growing role of AI in architecture and design.
Entries were judged by an international jury of recognised practitioners. The 2026 jurors were Xiang Li (X+Living, China), Júlia Kolláthová (Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, Slovakia), Sébastien Maleville (Essential Studio, France/Thailand), Chantanee Chiranthanut (Khon Kaen University, Thailand), Tiago Russo (Tiago Russo Product Design, Portugal/UK), Laura Mimini (d2p, Italy/China), Camilo Cerro (American University of Sharjah / Dharmatecture LLC, USA/Spain/UAE) and Artem Kropovinsky (Arsight Studio, Ukraine/USA).
