Medismile Dental Clinic and Dental Laboratory

In downtown Budapest, within the architecturally refined and contemporary Servita Square Building, DVM delivered a premium dental clinic and its associated dental laboratory—one of the highest-standard facilities of its kind in Hungary—providing comprehensive design and fit-out services.

Rather than accommodating a conventional office, retail, or residential function, this unit within Servita Square Building was transformed into a highly specialized, state-of-the-art healthcare environment.

The clinic features a distinctive spatial concept. The reception and arrival area are located on a 40 m² mezzanine level, while the waiting area, treatment rooms, and dental laboratory occupy the 395 m² ground floor. A straight-flight staircase leads from the mezzanine to the nearly six-metre-high, light-filled central space, where the waiting area and three of the clinic's five treatment rooms are located. Defined by glazed partitions with open tops, this unconventional spatial arrangement creates an airy, bright, and distinctive atmosphere, offering visitors a unique architectural experience.

The interior also establishes a direct visual connection with the surrounding urban environment. From the treatment rooms positioned alongside the full-height curtain wall, the façades of the surrounding historic buildings become an integral part of the interior experience.

One of the project's greatest technical challenges was the architectural, electrical, and mechanical integration of the dental and laboratory equipment. Working in close collaboration with a German medical technology designer, DVM developed all the necessary infrastructure for the installation, servicing, and operation of the equipment, including the specialized treatment rooms, X-ray facilities, and laboratory spaces.

A further challenge involved translating German-language medical technology documentation and technical specifications into coordinated construction documentation.

The fit-out was designed in full alignment with the Servita Square Building's energy-efficient and sustainability-driven building systems. The building holds the highest level of LEED v4 BD+C certification—Platinum—ensuring that the Medismile clinic fully complies with the project's ambitious sustainability standards.

The founder of Medismile set out to establish a dental clinic and laboratory in the heart of Budapest that would combine advanced technology with exceptional architectural quality, drawing on extensive professional experience gained in Hamburg. Rather than replicating the Hamburg practice, the Budapest facility reflects the owner's vision, interpreted through DVM's architectural design solutions.

The project further expands DVM's portfolio of healthcare developments, strengthening the company's expertise and presence in the delivery of complex healthcare facilities.
