Big See award for the DVM Visual office

Big See award for the DVM Visual office

In a prestigious international field, DVM Visual has won the Big See Interior Design Awards 2023 (Workplace category), with the award ceremony taking place on 19-20 May in Ljubljana, at an event including a trade exhibition.

The jury evaluated the entries according to specific criteria, with a focus on sustainability and recycling.

The 350 square metre office for our colleagues was expected to be a flexible, quickly reconfigurable, multi-functional single unit, using environmentally friendly materials, while retaining the existing wet room and mechanical and sprinkler ducting in the ceiling. We only demolished what we considered technically justified or functionally inadequate to meet the new needs.

The aim was also to reduce the heat load from the high-powered computers by designing direct extraction between the desks, thus reducing the ecological footprint of the office. Concept: post-modern approach and colour scheme, using basic elements of 3D design, creating a vibrant, inspiring, homely environment. The thin black frame structure and the white or textured and coloured surfaces in between reflect the phases of modelling. Only “real” materials are used: OSB, solid wood or veneer, metal, concrete, peat (acoustic cladding). In the design of the office interiors, we have made an effort to use reused or recyclable materials, and the design elements have been created by Hungarian designers. The custom-made light fixtures are the work of designer Fanni Ungár.
