KOSTAL

Ida Kiss, design director of DVM group, said of the work process, “Sustainability was a key element in the design, with the lettuce towers, the abundance of plants and natural materials being the most striking elements. We created attractive spaces where colleagues can feel at home and inspire collaborative thinking, while also providing opportunities for reflection and efficient working.”

The first phase of the design and fit-out works for the German multinational’s new business service centre – around 1,400 square metres – was completed in February 2023. In the second phase, a further 1,000 square metres will be completed. In designing the office to be as sustainable as possible, priority was given to conveying the company’s core values and strategic goals: family-friendly, people-centred and collaborative. The company has always strived to use technological innovations and to be customer-focused, which have been combined with their environmental standards in this new office.

Ida Kiss, design director of DVM group, said of the work process, “Sustainability was a key element in the design, with the lettuce towers, the abundance of plants and natural materials being the most striking elements. We created attractive spaces where colleagues can feel at home and inspire collaborative thinking, while also providing opportunities for reflection and efficient working.” These were the considerations our interior designers and fit-out team worked with during the office design process.

The internal office layout is flexible to the needs of employees. The flexible spaces have been designed to meet the client’s request that no one (except HR) should have a dedicated desk or office. This allows managers to be closer to their direct colleagues for more effective communication. As a result, incoming workers can decide which meeting room or common room to use for teamwork, or work alone in a quiet zone or in special phone booths. The office design also follows this approach and supports hybrid working with a number of meeting rooms equipped with the latest technology.

The new office design makes exemplary use of furniture, desks, glass walls and interior lighting that were taken from the previous office and refurbished to reflect the office’s original layout. As the approach and application of sustainability is a core belief of KOSTAL, minimised energy consumption and efficient use of energy were also important requirements when designing the interiors.
