SUSTAINABILITY CONSULTANCY

Sustainability consultancy and strategy development ensures that environmentally conscious guidelines are integrated into the design and construction processes, resulting in energy-efficient, high-comfort buildings with more productive users, lower operating costs and, last but not least, a reduced environmental impact. To achieve these goals, the DVM group’s sustainability consultancy department develops the best solutions for its partners based on the following principles:

Energy efficiency: energy efficiency strategies focus on reducing energy use and carbon emissions. Energy efficiency strategies include the use of energy-conscious architecture, renewable energy sources, efficient mechanical and lighting systems, and intelligent building management systems.

Water efficiency: Water efficiency strategies aim to reduce water use in buildings. Water efficiency strategies include the use of smart irrigation systems, water-saving devices, and rainwater harvesting and recovery systems.

Environmentally responsible use of materials: The use of environmentally responsible materials aims to reduce the environmental impact of materials used in construction. This requires a life-cycle approach to the choice of materials to be used in construction and the use of reused or recycled materials with a proven environmental performance.

Sustainable waste management: The aim of sustainable waste management is to reduce the amount of waste generated during the construction and operation of the building and to increase the recycling rate. This is achieved by retaining existing structures, selective waste management and the use of easily recyclable materials during construction.

Ensuring the well-being and comfort of users: Aspects to ensure the well-being and comfort of building users include adequate occupancy and visual comfort, an optimal acoustic environment, adequate indoor thermal comfort and air quality, varied green spaces and accessibility.

When designing building projects, designers should take into account the energy efficiency, water use, waste management and environmental impact of the proposed building materials. In addition, other social impacts such as the usability of the building for different users and the appropriate design of the building’s environment also play an important role. The aim of sustainability advice is to reduce negative impacts on the environment in the design and construction of buildings, to improve the energy efficiency of buildings and to make buildings sustainable in the long term. By doing so, project participants contribute to protecting the environment and creating a sustainable future.

As part of our sustainability consultancy services, we also provide our clients with solutions that can be implemented even afterwards. For example, an energy performance audit, a method to analyse the energy use of a building and identify potential energy efficiency problems. Our experts will review the overall energy use of the building, including heating, cooling, lighting and other energy consumption. During the assessment, our colleagues summarise the energy use characteristics and identify proposed energy efficiency improvements.

Our clients are looking for the most cost-effective operation possible; we provide them with suggestions and solutions to achieve their energy saving goals.
