Located by Lake Balaton, near the Tagore Promenade, the renovation of Danubius Hotel Annabella, which is being carried out in several phases, aims for a complete renewal of the hotel. The reconstruction, divided into three phases, was executed by DVM for the first two phases, during which the modernization of guest rooms, corridors, and related technical systems was realized, preserving the hotel's iconic character by the lake.

In the first phase, the guest rooms, internal corridors, and communal guest areas were renewed. During the work, completely new room interiors and bathrooms were created, while the coverings of the balconies were also replaced. The corridors received a modern interior design with new floorings, wallpapers, and surface finishes, while the elevator lobbies and shafts remained unchanged.

The second phase continued the concept of the first phase: Following the complete demolition of the existing guest rooms, new, modern rooms were built while retaining the main walls. The new interior design included the installation of custom furniture, beds, headboards, lighting fixtures, and decorative elements, as well as a complete renewal of the guest bathrooms.

During the facade work, modern panoramic windows were installed, improving both the view of Lake Balaton and the building's energy performance. The balcony coverings, railing surface treatments, and the dividers separating the balconies were also renewed. New floorings, drywall structures, wooden coverings, wallpapers, and painted surfaces were created in the guest corridors, while a completely new fire alarm system was also installed.

The interior design plans for the project were prepared by Axion Art Ltd. under the leadership of chief designer Gábor Pályi. During the execution, DVM worked closely with the client's representative to ensure the high-quality realization of the designer's concept.

Special attention was also paid to the modernization of the building's mechanical systems during the execution. The guest rooms received new, energy-efficient fan-coil systems, the cooling infrastructure was modernized, and intelligent opening sensors were installed that automatically stop the air conditioning when a window is open. Traditional lighting fixtures were replaced with energy-saving LED lighting, contributing to the hotel's more economical operation.

DVM's task was the complete general contracting of the two phases, including the coordination of architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines, the realization of detailed interior design, and the full coordination of the construction process.

The renewed Danubius Hotel Annabella now welcomes its guests in a modern, four-star environment in Balatonfüred. The new guest rooms, modern corridors, and renewed technical systems serve both guest comfort and sustainable long-term operation.
