Scandinavian Design, Local Needs: Simplicity, functionality and harmony—three words that define Scandinavian design just as much as they describe Nilfisk's new Budapest office. Guided by the values of sustainability and modern work culture, we designed the new Budapest headquarters of Nilfisk, the professional cleaning-equipment manufacturer with Danish roots. The office reflects the company's global outlook and Danish workplace culture while responding to the needs of the local team.

Discovery Methodology and Change Management: Our team implemented the project using the Discovery methodology, rooted in design thinking and service design principles. The design process began with comprehensive research: leadership and employee interviews, a detailed questionnaire and joint workshops. The process also included change-management support and follow-up sessions to drive continuous improvement.

Two Floors, Unified Identity: Spread across two floors of the Budapart Gate building, the office presented a unique challenge: the two levels originally had distinct characters that needed to be unified. We preserved the most valuable features—soft curves and glass partitions—while transforming the environment. The 6th floor offers panoramic views of Kopaszi Dam and Gellért Hill, with a communal kitchen and creatively designed meeting rooms. The 4th floor is dedicated to quieter, focused workspaces.

Indirect Brand Expression: The design expresses the Nilfisk brand subtly and indirectly. Instead of large logos, the Scandinavian feel is conveyed through materiality, colour palette and spatial logic. Natural oak, metallic details and muted tones create a calm, balanced atmosphere. Archival posters and vintage advertisements celebrate the company's rich history.

Preservation and Renewal: The true uniqueness of the project lies in transforming an existing interior into a future-oriented workspace with a new identity—while ensuring that the Danish company's values of sustainability, efficiency and human-focused design are present in every detail.
